July 2008 President's Note

From the President's Desk...

President's NoteJuly is a month of new beginnings for our club. July 1st
is the date in which the current board and non board
members step down and the new team begins. This term
we will be continuing a co-presidency as it worked really well
for the 2007-2008 term. Rachel and Kimi have done an amazing
job at keeping things simple and fun. We thank them for the love
and dedication they have given to the PMC over the last 4 years.
Rachel and Kimi will be our MNO (Mom’s Night Out) coordinators we are really excited about the things they are planning.
Our hats are off to you ladies.

Petaluma is an amazing little town with so much to offer. We both feel it is important to support Petaluma Businesses and give
back to our community. This year we are continuing our family oriented theme of FUN! We also want to shed some light on sustainable
living, eco-consciousness and togetherness. If we all slow down a bit, get back to our roots, give back to mother earth and smile more life will be more rewarding for us and the generations
Petaluma and the PMC are helping us grow. It takes a village to raise a child.<br>
A little about us:
My name is Chrissy Minick. First and foremost, I am a Mom to my 3 year old son Austin, a wife, partner and best friend to my
husband Jeff, a business co-owner of J D Minick Construction www.jdminick.com, and your 2008-2009 co-president. I grew
up in Stinson Beach and later moved to Novato where I met my husband. We bought our house in Petaluma in late 2004. I joined the
PMC in 2005 to find a playgroup for my then 5 month old son. I started off volunteering to help with the Fall Carnival,
then the Spring Tea. I liked it so much that I decided to be an EventCoordinator for the 2006-2007 term. When that term ended I decided to be
part of the 2007-2008 welcome team. Many of you have seen me along side Kim & Julia at the welcome table at our events. Every year I am rewarded
more from the Petaluma Mothers’ Club and feel like this is the perfect opportunity to show my appreciation.

My name is Kesa Labanowski. I am 37 years old and have 2 children Zachary, 5 and Natalie 3. My husband and I have lived
in Petaluma for the past 8 years. We are both native San Franciscans. I have my Masters Degree in social work and for several
years worked with homeless veterans. I am now a stay at home mom. I joined the Petaluma Mothers Club right after I had Zachary.
I have never been part of a playgroup but have met several wonderful friends and children through the club. I have also
found the newsletter and yahoo groups to be so helpful and a positive support for myself. Last years I volunteered as an event
coordinator it was a wonderful experience. So thought I might go for it and be the President for 2008-2009 with Chrissy.

We know that your time with your family is precious and want to include them as much as we can. We hope
you and your family will join us for the Super Playgroup and Movies in the park (Bee Movie) on July 12th. Don’t forget to take time to rejuvenate your
soul, and Mom’s Night Out is a great way to do that. Please see the event calendar for more details. We are both really looking forward to a year of fun and family.
We welcome your thoughts, comments or concerns. Please feel free to contact us anytime throughout the year at pmcpresident@yahoo.com.

Many Thanks,

Chrissy Minick & Kesa Labanowski
