Learn how to encourage the social and emotional development of your child(ren) with local childcare expert Maayan Schoeman. Maayan's talk will emphasize the teachings of Rudolf Steiner and the Waldorf Education model that allows each child to unfold and reach their developmental milestones at an individual pace. Young children are in the beginning of a long process of learning about their feelings and how to express themselves and communicate with others. Supporting children in emotional and social development can help children be confident, and have the skills to be successful in the world. Come learn what we can do as parents and teachers: how to listen, what language to use that is effective with children and what language to teach children to use with each other, how to help facilitate conflict, the importance of play, and more!
Maayan has overseen Open Arms Playgarden Preschool for thirteen years and has over fifteen years of experience in early childhood education. She has completed four years of Waldorf teacher training. She is the mother of two children ages 14 and 18.
